Build the future creative on-chain ecosystem with

the ZORA Protocol and ETHGlobal

August 4 — 10th, 2022

ETHGlobal Zora

The power of Web3 is the power of collective imagination - a global network of powerful tools and bold ideas, brought to life by engineers & artists, tinkerers & hacktivists, weirdos & cypherpunks. What we are building has never been built before, because it was never before possible to build it that way.

Zora’s Metabolism hackathon is a virtual space for creative experimentation, bringing together some of the world’s best creators from a broad variety of categories and inviting them to design new digital spaces, on-chain tools, artistic experiments and more. Web3 is both one of the biggest paradigm shifts since the advent of the internet age and an ever-evolving inquiry into the societal possibilities of creative technology: no matter if you are a developer, an engineer, an architect, a musician, a theorist or seasoned NFT artist - we invite you to build hyperstructures with us with focus on NFTs, on-chain music ecosystems, a new generation of DAOs and Zora’s vast ecosystem of tools and smart contracts.

Let’s build. Let’s create. Let’s imagine - together.

Their festival events, held globally at different locations around the world, showcase exciting established and emerging acts who spin everything from house and techno to ambient and experimental sounds. Let the archives from some of these live events — and featured visuals from Refraction founding artist Genki Nishida — carry you across the finish line.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Metabolism?
Metabolism is an event bringing together some of the top minds and experts in Ethereum/Web3 and the creative space. We enable teams and individuals to make something great in a short time by providing an abundance of resources like mentors, partners, direction, and software.
I'm new to Ethereum/Web3, can I participate?
Absolutely! Our events are open to both beginners and veterans of the web3 world. This event in particular will be tailored to attendees who have experience with Web2 technologies and creatives interestedin building on Web3 for the first time.
How much does it cost to attend?
Metabolism is 100% free for hackers. All that we ask of you is that you focus on building your project, check-in with us on your progress regularly, and participate in the community we build around this hackathon.
Is there a code of conduct?
Yes! For years, our core ethos has been to make it easy for anyone to dream big. To that end, we've developed a Code of Conduct.
How many people can be on a team?
You can form teams of up to 5 people. There are no restrictions for team members, so you can team up with hackers of any country or experience level!
Can I start working on my hack before the event?
No. In the interest of fairness, attendees should not be working on their projects before Metabolism begins and we do not allow participants to work on pre-existing projects. However, you can familiarize yourself with all the tools and technologies you intend to use beforehand!
